One Must Hear the Word of God:
Romans 10:17 Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
One Must Believe the Word of God:
Mark 16:16 – He that believes and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believes not shall be damned or separated from God for all eternity.
One Must Repent- When one repents, they are telling God and expressing godly sorrow for the way they have lived their lives. They are saying that they will no longer be a voluntary participant in sin. In 2 Cor. 7:10 we find these words:
For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death; but – change in condition. The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
One Must Confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of God – This confession must be made with the mouth, and it must be stated aloud for everyone present to hear that you are confessing Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Romans 10:10 – For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Matthew 10:32-33.
One Must Be Baptized to Complete their Faith and Obedience to the Gospel – Romans 10:16 – But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias said, Lord, who hath believed our report? Romans 6:17 – But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Baptism is for the removal of sins and to receive the indwelling of the Holy Ghost – Acts 2:38 – Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission (removal) of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:41,47. In the Act of Baptism is where one comes into contact with the blood of Christ.
